King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital has established Geriatric Excellence Center with a mission to prepare Thai society for global aging change by promoting healthy lifestyle among older people, slowing down their degeneration, and reducing their dependency in order to enable them to live a productive life and have a better quality of life.

Vision

We aim to create new knowledge and models of care for older people to integrate with national policies. Our health care models include health promotion, disease prevention, medical treatment, rehabilitation, and palliative care.

We also support the training of medical personnel and public personnel in the field of elderly care.

To create a healthy aging community, slow down the degeneration, and reduce dependency.

Service

Geriatric Excellence Center provides both disease prevention and treatment for commonly found symptoms in older patients such as falls, sleep problems, vision and hearing problems, degeneration of the internal organ system, and mental care by a multidisciplinary team of specialized professionals.

Comprehensive Geriatric Clinic has been established in order to promote holistic health care and to screen health problems. The clinic also facilitates a self-care plan for each individual and educates them on how to take care of themselves. Women Health Clinic is also in service for comprehensive health care of menopausal women.

We produce information resources in aging and elderly care for our community in the form of leaflets, online media, handbooks and textbooks. Our medical textbooks are initiated to be the reference book of Thailand, while the academic conference about the elderly and community collaboration are held to acknowledge proper elderly care and create an aging-friendly attitude in Thai society. 

We also provide other supplementary activities such as

1. Research and Quality improvement project
2. Educative session for the older people by multidisciplinary team
3. Demonstration site for both internal and external organization
4. Health promotion activities for the older people such as Ang-kalung music activity, brain stimulation games, and bamboo dance exercise
