Medical Supply Department

King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital

To serve with high quality and standards, widely accepted by various organizations.

The Medical Supply Department has operated since the opening of the hospital. It was previously called “Drug Storehouse Division”. Poy Raksasuk, M.D. who had graduated with a medical graduate diploma from the Royal Medical College (Batch 20), Siriraj Hospital in 1914, was the head of the division. The medicine mixing room, which mixed and remixed foreign medicines, as well as the medicine compounding room were located downstairs, while the medicine storage room was in the basement of the Administrative Building.

Later, in 1925, the department was moved to the ground floor of the Chakrapong Building. When the Army Medical Field Service School and Club moved out of Chulalongkorn Hospital in 1932, the medical supply storehouse and liquid drug room (where large batches of medicine were mixed) were moved to the Laundry Building, but on a separate side from the Laundry Division. In 1961, the medical supply building was constructed behind Chakrapong Building, thus the department was moved to this bigger building. After that, the medical supply storehouse building was built around the back, aligning with Vachirunahis Building. It officially became the department’s office on 1st September 1964, in 1989, and up to 2020.

In addition, the Medical Supply Department has been renamed 6 times:
