King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital

Collecting payment and income correctly, accountably,
and trustworthily.

When King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital was opened on May 30th 1914, there wasn’t a finance department like now. The king Chulalongkorn aimed to help and support destitute patients and to be a charitable hospital. After the reformation of the hospital, the management team allocated work to different divisions such as secretaries, Administration (Cash, Credit, Purchasing, Building, maintenance and security). Later on, the cash and credit units were combined and became the finance and accounts division. Then, it was upgraded and called a department. There were 5 Units in this department: Cash Units, Credit Unit, Credential Unit, Budget Unit, Account Unit and an extra one which is the Information Unit (Data Record Center).

In 1914, The king Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital improved the finance and account department’s internal operation to be in line with the public health system. Due to increasing work, our structure was altered into 2 parts.

  1. Finance. 
  2. Accounts and Budget.

Mrs. Nuchrat Sriworwit was the first chief of Finance in 1915 until her retirement in 1918. Then Mrs. Prapansri Lertchatchai was appointed to be the second chief of Finance. After the department of finance reconstruction from November 11th, 2008-September 30th, 2020. Financial Analysis became an additional division of the department. Currently, Miss Punthira Chitcheun is in charge as the chief of Finance since October 1st, 2020.

From past to present, “ the Finance Department” has continuously improved. Our principle is to focus on “good service and good morale leads to good progress” and to support the organization to grow stronger and be sustainable.

The Department of finance plays an important role in collecting payment and income, we are ready to move forward to become a world class organization.

Mission

We are determined to improve the finance system to be more efficient as a  payment collection and service. Our management can be flexible to adapt with different factors. Furthermore, the collaboration internally and externally is integrated to be able to achieve the hospital and Thai Red Cross policy. Our system and personnel development, continues, so that we are all driven to the same goal, to further support each other, and continue learning and improving. 


The purpose of restructuring was to seek efficiency and be more flexible and faster. The department distributed into 6 groups as shown below:

  1. Out-patient Payment.
  2. In-patient Payment.
  3. General Account. 
  4. Credit. 
  5. Debt collection.
  6. Administration.

Services

The Department of finance focuses on improving service-mindedness for our staff and also cultivates good morale in the developing organization and society. We believe in customer focus so that they are happy with our service, our main focuses are shown below:

  1. Collect treatment fees from patients by cash or credit.
  2. Collect donations.
  3. Collect miscellaneous income such as store rental, car parking fees etc. 
  4. Collect total income and to report to the Finance bureau.

We aim to be organized to work under the finance system in order to collect payments accurately, completely and verifiably. Moreover, our department believes in service quality, we were awarded for our service; Excellent Lean Approach in the 3rd Quality market Expo: Lean and Innovation 2010.
