Providing opportunities for personnel and the general public
to make merit and help sick monks and novices and other donations.

The Department of Ceremony, King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, was founded in 1983 by Wat Bowonniwet Vihara, together with King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, with the purpose to provide opportunities for personnel and the general public to make merit and help sick monks and novices which is in accordance with the teaching of Buddha – taking care of his disciples is one way of taking care of him.

The office of The Department of Ceremony is located at Vachirayanawong Building in Chulalongkorn Hospital. The place is used for arranging the ceremony of presenting food alms to monks and accepting money donations to support the operation of Chulalongkorn Hospital and other offices in the Thai Red Cross Society.

Vision

The Department of Ceremony is the supporting unit which operates the activities in accordance with the hospital policies of accuracy, readiness and satisfaction of the clients.

Mission

  1. Arrange the ceremony of presenting food alms to monks on various occasions, such as birthdays, giving merit to the deceased, etc.
  2. Arrange money donations for supporting the operation of King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital.
  3. Accept the requests of body donation for medical education, research and treatment.
  4. Arrange the funeral ceremony and facilitate the relatives and contact persons.
  5. Arrange special activities for Chulalongkorn Hospital which conserve Thai cultures and traditions, such as Kathin ceremony (offering new robes to the monks),the Muthitachit ceremony (congratulatory ceremony), etc.

The Department of Ceremony can be divided into 2 sections which are:

  1. Buddhist ceremony section.
  2. General service and finance section.
