Department of Pediatrics

King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital

To be a model medical institution with sound integrity and internationally recognized standards in pediatric practice.

We have continually provided pediatric clinical services since the 30th May 1914 on the establishment of King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital of the Thai Red Cross Society. The services are initially ran under the Department of Internal Medicine, which provided medical care to both adults and children at the time.

Later on, when the Faculty of Medicine of Chulalongkorn University was established in 1947, the Department of Pediatrics was founded. Its offices were initially located on the ground floor of the Kaew Assawanon Building (now the Elizabeth – Jakkrapong Building) and moved several times before its move to its current location, the H.M. Queen Sirikit Building in 1996.

For the last 70 years, the Department of Pediatrics has continually provided and developed its service in accordance with its mission and vision under the Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University and The King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital of the Thai Red Cross Society, to be a leading medical institution nationally and internationally in teaching, service provision, academic expertise and research in pediatrics.
